Automated Test Equipment Design
Reliable production depends on robust testing. At RVL, we design and build bespoke Automated Test Equipment to support production test, product verification, and long-term manufacture.
Our ATE systems are used to confirm that PCB assemblies and finished products perform correctly before they leave production. This can include power-up testing, functional testing, signal measurement, communications checks, firmware programming, calibration, and automated pass/fail reporting.
Because we understand the product electronics, firmware, and manufacturing process, we can design test equipment that is closely matched to the product being built. This helps improve test coverage, reduce operator error, speed up production, and create a clear record of every unit tested.
Our ATE design capability includes:
- Bespoke test fixtures and harnesses
- Functional PCBA and product-level testing
- Firmware programming and configuration
- Measurement of analogue and digital signals
- Communications testing including USB, Ethernet, RS-485, CAN and wireless interfaces
- Calibration routines where required
- Automated pass/fail decisions
- Test logging and report generation
- Support for production traceability and fault diagnosis
We also design and maintain test equipment for products that are manufactured over many years. This allows production testing to remain consistent, repeatable, and robust throughout the life of the product.
For clients, this provides confidence that products are not only manufactured correctly, but are tested in a controlled, repeatable way before delivery.
